Require Oem Parts to be used in repair after accident?
I was in an at-fault accident this weekend.
The unibody frame was damaged. The appraisal of the car (2005 Honda Accord with 60k miles) is roughly $9,000 and the cost to repair using aftermarket parts is $4,800. I want the car totaled and scrapped.
Can I require that genuine Honda OEM parts be used?
What can I do to make sure the car is totaled?
They are using the OEM part cost. So probably not. It will just be repaired and then you can sell it.
